Description:		The DIMAP version of NODE (first edition) is a machine-tractable version of the machine-readable dictionary files in the DIMAP dictionary maintenance programs, adding syntactic and semantic information in the conversion. In addition, DIMAP provides several mechanisms that will allow research into representational formalisms and explorations of the use of these representations in extending the lexical database and in processing text for information extraction, text summarization, discourse analysis and other LE applications. Using functionality to parse the dictionary definitions, DIMAP has further enhanced NODE through the addition of many semantic links, including hypernyms, synonyms, and other semantic relations, thus making NODE+DIMAP a semantic network of the English language.
