Title:Elicitation of two personal stories
Bibliographic Citation:Setiani, Dewi, Ludlow, Sydney, Sou, Jenny, Truong, Christina, Jacob Hakim, McDonnell, Bradley, Setiani, Dewi; 2018-10-05; In this small group session, we first started asking a couple follow up questions regarding Sundanese orthography for the words "embers" and "turtle". Then we had Dewi tell two stories from her life in Bandung while wearing a headset microphone. The first was a 'near-death experience' story about her encounter with a man in Indonesia whose moped she was riding when they were involved in an accident. The second was a 'ghost story' which was about her experience hearing and seeing a kuntilani (evil female spirit) late at night in her family home. Dewi told these stories once in Sundanese, and then once in English. There is commentary throughout the recording about random things like what Dewi ate throughout the day, family superstitions like how her mom made her shower with flowers, and Dewi's personal feelings about both stories.; digital wav file recorded at 48 kHz/16 bit, digital video H.264 mp4 file, digital image jpeg file, ELAN annotation file .eaf; Kaipuleohone University of Hawai'i Digital Language Archive;https://hdl.handle.net/10125/107756.
