Bibliographic Citation: | Anastasia Roja, Sophune, Pidhu (Ebbe), Danerek, H. Stefan, Danerek, H. Stefan, Ratu, Hilarius; 2015-10-13; Genre: Medicine/huru. Anastasia Roja, kampong Wolondopho, Edo (Hedho) domain, explains about her 'huru hegu' (see also the additional file from 21 Oct -15). Roja was recorded for the first time by Pidu Sophune (Ebbe) 13 Oct 2015, from late morning until mid-afternoon, here using the AT Lavelier mic, with decent result. Roja, who qualifies as dukun, told several tales and 'huru'. This is 'huru hegu'. The sign/curse, hung in the plantation uses 'hao' bamboo and long grass. The cure to the symptom ache, primarily chest ache, uses 7 young longgrass, scraped 'hegu' wood, 'seku' (kencur root), garlic, ginger, and the usual areca nut and piper betel (BI. sirih pinang, with lime), or, alternatively as 'huru hao', the same ingredients but with 7 'hao' bamboo sharp shoots, and the long grass taken from a crossed path, all chewed together. The mixture is applied to where it is hurting (the chest mentioned in the 21 Oct recording). Family members were around; Mina, Mas, Misone, Bae (Mina's child). Portrait, pictures.; digital wav file recorded at 48 khz/24 bit, eaf file; Kaipuleohone University of Hawai'i Digital Language Archive;http://hdl.handle.net/10125/47711. | |
