Bibliographic Citation:Nggei, Sophune, Pidhu (Ebbe), Danerek, H. Stefan, Danerek, H. Stefan, Ratu, Hilarius; 2016-01-03; Genre: Medicine/huru. Mama Nggei, a grandmother who lives alone in a hut in kampong Mata Mere, was recorded by Pidhu Sophune 3 Jan -16 in the morning. In this recording she tells about her 'huru baralewa', a 'huru'ä she inherited ('daju ne'e') from her parents/ancestors. She will hang 'moro bau' in a tree (among trees) that she wants to protect. Symptom: swollenness (like 'huru lekhe' she says, and it is worst in the arm pits). Cure: chewed areca nut, piper betel, lime with 'seku' (BI. kencur) and 'moro bau'. Before applying the chewed mixture she places paddy grains on the body part where it hurts. With a few neighbours sitting by listening, a Mama "Heje" heard laughing with Ngei. Notes: seku, moro bau, siwe (placed on ailing part of body). (huru baralewa. Ngei). Curse (teo moro bau). Bulu wao.; digital wav file recorded at 44,1 khz/16 bit, eaf file; Kaipuleohone University of Hawai'i Digital Language Archive;http://hdl.handle.net/10125/47778.
