Petrus Hase explained his 'huru theku heko' around noon time 26 Sept 2015 in kampong Sali, where we had gone to seek for 'huru' narratives to record this day. Symptoms: impaired hearing, ear ache. Cure: Hase cures with chewed areca nut, piper betel, lime, and tobacco, crushed theku heko, roots, followed by the flowers, of the forest eggplant 'dhou' (different from the practitioners in Nara and Mata mere). The 'dhou' flowers are applied after the chewed mixture, pressed gently around the ear five circles. Then apply the prepared mixture again, this time with paddy grains. Utter simple 'bulu wao'. The patient usually 'peju', pays something, little money. This is more safe. And he/she may also 'siko', healing ritual with coin. Here chewed mixture is applied once again, following the coin around the ear (or the stomach in another huru, says he). No curse-prohibition involved. Recorded by SD and Pidhu (Ebbe) with an AT Lavelier mic. With Lunda, who also told his 'huru' and a few family members; Ware, Lunda (another), Pethu (Petrus?), children Wua, Dhoka, Cawa.; digital wav file recorded at 48 khz/24 bit, eaf file, photo jpeg file; Kaipuleohone University of Hawai'i Digital Language Archive;http://hdl.handle.net/10125/47788.
