Bibliographic Citation: | Teresia Lue, Danerek, H. Stefan, Danerek, H. Stefan, Danerek, H. Stefan, Pita Longge; 2015-06-27; Genre: Medicine/huru: Teresia Lue, a grandmother from kampong Ndeo and Hilarius Ratu's mother, informs us about 'huru boe'. Recorded in the early evening 27 June -15 in Mama Lu'e's home, in the living room with the H4N Zoom. I, Cawa Lunda, ask many questions in this recording. Lue does not "hang" this 'huru' as a curse in the plantation. It is a disease or a symptom that affilicts males only; the groin, the organ becomes red and swollen and aches. Bad. It is cured by applying a chewed mixture of betel and lime, 'hule mila' and 'hero' bamboo sprouts (young leaves), ginger and tobacco. The cure can be repeated until three times. Also questions about who taught her this cure – her granny passed it on to her. With a few other family members present, adult children Pita and Meli. Portrait from early April -17.; digital wav file recorded at 48 khz/24 bit, eaf file, photo jpeg file; Kaipuleohone University of Hawai'i Digital Language Archive;http://hdl.handle.net/10125/47831. | |
