Bibliographic Citation:Weka Serane, Danerek, H. Stefan, Danerek, H. Stefan, Danerek, H. Stefan, Ratu, Hilarius; 2015-06-12; Genre: Medicine/huru: The first recording session in the Ko'a domain. Morning 12 June 2015 in Kanda's and Toji's (and Wéka is Kanda's younger sister, c. 50 years) home. Wéka tells about her 'huru lole' ('huru' name of plant) that she learned from her mother (or inherited,' daju ne'e', from grandmother). Symptoms: pain rises from below, liver, to chest. Ingredients/Cure: betel/lime, 3-5-7-9 white beans (uneven numbers), red onion, and 'lole'. 'Lole' is scraped from the plant. All ingredients are chewed together. Wéka places the chewed mixture where it hurts, and ends the cure with blowing on the aching place and uttering a 'phulu ba'o' prayer telling the bad to leave and the good to stay. This 'huru' is not caused by a curse that Wéka hangs in the plantation (if others do is yet a question). Recorded with the AT2020 mic on the table that we sat around. Wéka,: I, Sundu, Kanda, Toji. Very good recordings this morning. I am greatful to Sundu who understood how to speak to the people and prepared them for the recording. Relaxed and nice situation, everybody enjoyed it.; digital wav file recorded at 48 khz/24 bit, eaf file, photo jpeg file II photo pdf file; Kaipuleohone University of Hawai'i Digital Language Archive;http://hdl.handle.net/10125/47850.
