Description:One recording in which Mr Wanglang talks about the origin place of Wihu singers. This consists of one sound file: nst-mos_20170114_12_SM_H5_WihuShiExplanation The details of this recording are as follows: nst-mos_20170114_12_SM_H5_WihuShiExplanation_Duration 11’55”, Discussion of the origin place of the Wihu – as per Gapkhim’s original song. There is a story of an iron plate disc (raungx ‘sky’), supported be either irons posts, or be eggs, It was beyond that plate, an unknowable place, that the Wihu comes from. The sky is like a disc that is supported by an iron plate that covers the whole earth, beyond that there is nothing and that is where Wihu begins to come from Since waung is said then Wihu is coming up. It seems as if the Wihu comes from the yuixyaz – the end of the river, i.e. at the ocean, and it comes to the yuixkhux which is the source, and the Tangsa people are living at the yuixkhux. Mungxkhomx Shvmxsaz Khat Wvnc Racrac Jazwac Timxpangx Wvt Wvnc Racrac Mungkhom is somewhere in Burma, in the plains, and in that place the people realized they were coming this side. Racrac ‘they are coming, upon their struggling in coming this battle with the Mungkhom is giving trouble’ Jazwac (jawz ‘elephant’ wac ‘tooth’ timxpangx ‘something that used to be made from the elephants tusk or nail by drilling; this is very hard to do,’ refers to that ornament wvt ‘drill’ hence this is a very difficult task
